Social Casting Campaigns Hot With Hollywood

Talent seekers are now launching formal casting campaigns on the Internet.  Network executives, TV/film producers, casting directors and talent representatives use social media as alternative means of discovering talent.

For example Oprah and reality TV super producer Mark Burnett are joining forces in search of the next big TV star on OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network).  The OWN casting call is requesting audition videos to become Oprah’s next big discovery.  Video submissions began posting May 14, 2010, on the OWN web site .

A couple of weeks ago I entered Oprah’s Your OWN Show contest to host a show on OWN TV.  I submitted an audition tape and need your votes to win.  So please, click the following link: http://bit.ly/bG2CPr It takes you DIRECTLY to my video.  Then, VOTE FOR ME!  You can vote as many times as you want.

Your vote is so important.  I am working toward getting at least 3,000 votes before the July 3rd deadline.  So vote early and vote often!  Because after I win this, I’ll be looking for entrepreneurs, who reinvented themselves during the recession, to feature on my show … Entrepreneurs By Necessity.  It will be a WIN/WIN for everyone!

Please spread the word and share my audition video, direct link (http://bit.ly/bG2CPr) on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, email and/or word-of-mouth.  Remember, you can VOTE as many times as you feel like doing. With your help, I will reach my goal.  Thanks in advance for your support (especially if voted earlier).

Today I attended the Global Creative Forum at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles. I thought that it would be a good networking venue. The forum opened with comments from the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and actor Michael Douglas, UN Messenger of Peace, as the moderator. Other experts from world organizations and leaders from the entertainment industry were also in attendance as panelists throughout the morning and afternoon sessions.

The Global Creative Forum was all about bridging the Hollywood creative community and United Nations to tell the stories about the United Nation’s goals, challenges and successes throughout the world.  The theme of the forum was empowering women, especially in the underdeveloped countries.

Heart wrenching stories were told by guest panelists about disease, human trafficking, human rights, the environment and more.
